Your Oral Health

Routine Preventative Care

Our patients enjoy coming to the dentist. Our staff of veteran, professional dental hygienists and our partners are happy to see you. Your regular visit for teeth cleaning and examination are essential to maintaining healthy teeth, gums and overall oral health. We are also a preventative-oriented practice, using routine x-rays as a useful resource for early detection of cavities, periodontal disease or any pathology in or surrounding the teeth or jaw bone. At Krol & Nazarov, we offer digital x-rays, which greatly reduce the amount of radiation exposure. We also carefully review each patient's medical and dental history to determine when and what type of x-ray may be needed.

Oral Cancer Screening

More than 42,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with oral or throat cancer annually. Early diagnosis is critical to successful treatment. Regular visits for our dentists to examine your mouth and throat will allow them to see any changes that may be a red flag, such as persistent soreness or an irritation, red or white patches, pain or numbness, a lump, thickening of tissue, difficulty chewing or swallowing, or other changes.

Digital X-rays

The digital x-ray is an important tool to help our dentists see more than with just the eye alone. X-rays allow our dentists to see vulnerable areas before they become visible to the eye. X-rays are a useful resource for early detection of cavities, periodontal disease or any pathology in or surrounding the teeth or jaw bone. At Krol & Nazarov, we offer digital x-rays, which greatly reduce the amount of radiation exposure. We also carefully review each patient's medical and dental history to determine when and what type of x-ray may be needed.

Periodontal Disease (or Gum Disease)

This is an infection of the gum that surrounds the teeth, which is a major cause of tooth loss. Periodontal disease is caused by plaque. It can be particularly damaging because it is often painless and goes on undetected. However, there are some symptoms that are indicators that one may have periodontal disease, such as bleeding gums, tender gums, persistent bad breath or bad taste or loose permanent teeth. It is essential to receive routine preventative care with Krol & Nazarov to detect early signs of gum disease.

Scaling and Root Planing

Also known as deep cleaning, this is a non-surgical treatment for periodontal disease that involves removing plaque and calculus from the area between the gums and tooth down to the root.

Brushing & Flossing

These are the basic essential tools for maintaining great oral health, including healthy gums and a great smile. Every child and adult should brush with an ADA-approved toothpaste for two-minutes, at least two times per day. Also, maintaining healthy teeth and gums requires daily flossing between every tooth and behind the back molars.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a natural element that strengthens teeth, thus, can reduce the chances of tooth decay. For children, we provide fluoride treatments to make sure their teeth have a strong, healthy start.

Sealants

Sealants are very thin protective barriers that help keep plaque and acids from forming in areas that often are difficult to be reached with the bristles of a toothbrush. In particular, sealants are an important tool in protecting a child’s developing teeth.
